Our philosophy is humanistic, wholistic, and comprehensive. We view early childhood as a period of development in which solid and lasting foundations for life are established. It should be a time of fun, warmth, exploration, security and discovery.
King's Kids Child Development Center (KKCDC) is a non-denominational, private child development facility where children are free to learn and grow in a safe and moral environment. The Center, through its broad range of services, provides working parents an enriched alternative to traditional daycare service. The services available include: year round preschool for children 2-5 years old; including a a full-day Pre-K program and an academically supportive Before and Aftercare Program.
At KKCDC, children participate in a developmentally appropiate program under the guidance of qualified pre-school and school age teachers. The program focuses on the needs of the whole child including emotional, social, mental, physical and moral development. Our nuturing philosphy allows each child to develop at his or her own pace.
Mission Statement
KKCDC recognizes that each child is an individual; that all children need to succeed. Therefore, King’s Kids has as its mission to respect the individual needs of children; foster a caring and creative environment and emphasize the social; emotional; physical; intellectual and spiritual development of each child and the continuing professional development of its teachers. In fulfilling our mission, we provide an environment that supports and encourages active parental involvement and participation; one that is nurturing and that is governed by the rules and regulations of the State of Maryland, Department of Education for early childhood development facilities. We endeavor to ensure that not only is no child left behind but that every child has a healthy start, a head start, a fair start, a safe start and a moral start in life. This is accomplished with the support of caring adults and a responsive church and school community.
License & Accreditation
In November 1996, the State of Maryland Department of Human Resources Child Care Administration, licensed the St. Paul’s King's Kids Child Development Center at Capitol Heights. This site now has a continuing license issued by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care. On May 2012, the site at Friendly was fully licensed.
In March 2011 the King’s Kids Child Development Center at Capitol Heights was accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education.
