ROBERT J. WILLIAMS SR. PASTOR

Robert J. Williams, Sr. was born in the tiny coal-mining town of Elkhorn, West Virginia, on March 31, 1939. He answered the call to Ministry at the age of 14 while in high school and was licensed by the Shiloh Baptist Church of Princeton, WV. He is married to the former Dr. Lillie Rodgers and is the father of three children - Robert Jr., Carl and Ruth, the grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of two. 

 

Bob Williams is a graduate of Park Central High School in Bluefield, WV. He served in the United States Army for seven years and studied at various colleges and universities in the Washington, DC area. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Divinity degrees from Virginia College and Seminary (now Virginia University of Lynchburg), Virginia, and went on to earn his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Howard University School of Divinity.

 

He has always been an advocate for change and has served in leadership capacity and many civic and community organizations. Pastor Williams is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches, USA and the Lott Carey Foreign Missions Convention. He is a life member of the NAACP. Pastor Williams has served in the ministry for 60 years and as Pastor of the St. Paul Baptist Church, Inc. of Prince Georges County, Maryland, for the past 45 years.

ROBERT J. WILLIAMS JR. PASTOR

Robert J. Williams, Jr. is the firstborn son of Rev. Dr. Robert J. Williams, Sr. and Dr. Lillie R. Williams of Fort Washington, Maryland. After completing his high school education in the public school system of Prince George's County, Maryland, Rev. Williams, Jr., earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

 

Reverend Williams, Jr., was licensed to ministry in 1990 and ordained in 1995. From May 1996 to May 2013 he served as Pastor of the Good Hope Baptist Church in King George, Virginia. From October 2005 he served as Associate Pastor of St. Paul Church until he was elected in November 2013 as Co-Pastor of St. Paul Church.

 

Professionally, Rev. Williams, Jr., is the Council Administrator for the Prince George’s County Council, responsible for managing the operation of the Legislative Branch of government. Pastor Williams served as a teacher at the New Hope Bible College in Baltimore, Maryland and helped establish the St. Paul Institute of Christian Education. He also worked as an Engineer at gospel radio station WYCB.

 

Pastor Williams' awards and achievements include: The Henry G. Maynard Award for Excellence in Preaching and Ministry; Fellowship, Congress of National Black Churches; and The National Dean's List.

 

Pastor Williams is married. He and his wife, Demetriss, have four daughters – Crystal, Kiah, Lauren and Nicole, one son-in-law –Rico, and one grandson – Christian.
